# WAVDROP documentation > WAVDROP is a file delivery and review app for music producers, mixing and mastering engineers. You upload songs into projects and send one link. Clients open it in any browser and play, with no account and no access request, then leave notes pinned to exact timestamps. Links can be locked with a password or an email list, set to expire, or kept stream-only with downloads turned off. --- # Quick start > From sign-up to your first link and notes, in five steps. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/quick-start WAVDROP turns a music file into a link. Your client opens it in any browser and presses play. They don't need an account, and they don't have to ask for access. Here's the whole loop, start to finish. ## 1. Create your account Sign up at [app.wavdrop.link](https://app.wavdrop.link/auth/sign-up). While WAVDROP is in beta, sign-up may ask for an invite code. ## 2. Create a project A project holds the songs you're sending one client: a single, an EP, an album. 1. Click **New project**. 2. Type the client or artist name. Pick an existing client from the list, or keep typing to create a new one. 3. Name the project and save. ## 3. Upload your files Drag files onto the project, or click to browse. WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, M4A and AAC all work. See [Uploading files](https://docs.wavdrop.link/uploading) for size limits. If a file looks like a new mix of a song that's already there, WAVDROP asks whether to stack it as a new version or keep it separate. ## 4. Send the link Every project has one share link, shown on the project page. Click **Copy** and send it however you like: text, email, DM. Click **Client view** first if you want to see exactly what your client will see. ## 5. Get notes back Your client presses play and leaves notes on the exact second they're talking about. You see them on the project page and in **Notes**, where you can reply or mark them done. > [!TIP] > Want to control who gets in? Add a password, limit the link to your client's email, or make it expire. See [Passwords and email access](https://docs.wavdrop.link/protect-links). ## Next steps - [How WAVDROP is organized](https://docs.wavdrop.link/basics): the few ideas the rest of the docs build on. - [Share links](https://docs.wavdrop.link/share-links): song links, turning links off, and expiry. - [What your client sees](https://docs.wavdrop.link/client-view): so you can walk them through it. --- # How WAVDROP is organized > Clients, projects, songs, versions, links and notes, and how they fit together. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/basics WAVDROP is built on a handful of ideas. Once they click, the rest is obvious. ## Clients The people you make music for: an artist, a band, a label. Every project belongs to one client. You can give a client a photo and contact emails. ## Projects One batch of work for a client: a single, an EP, an album. A project has its own cover art, its own settings, and **one share link** that opens every song in it. ## Songs One track in a project. Songs keep the order you give them, and your client sees the same order. ## Versions Every new mix of a song is a version. Versions stack under their song instead of piling up as separate tracks. The main version is the one that plays first. Your client can still pick an older one. See [Versions](https://docs.wavdrop.link/versions). ## Share links How your client gets in. Send the whole project, or copy a link to a single song. You decide whether a link needs a password, only opens for certain emails, expires, or allows downloads. See [Share links](https://docs.wavdrop.link/share-links). ## Notes Comments your client leaves while listening, each pinned to the second it's about. You can reply, mark a note done, or export a round of notes as markers for your DAW. See [Notes and replies](https://docs.wavdrop.link/notes). ## Your workspace Everything above lives in your workspace. One account has one workspace, and your plan sets its storage and limits. See [Plans and storage](https://docs.wavdrop.link/plans). --- # Projects and clients > Create a project for a client, add cover art and keep things tidy. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/projects-and-clients A project is one batch of work for one client. Clients are the people those projects are for. ## Create a project 1. Click **New project**. 2. Type the **Client or artist name**. Matching clients show up as you type. Pick one, or keep typing to create a new client with that name. 3. Type the **Project name**. 4. Turn on **Prevent downloads** if your client should only stream for now. You can change it later. 5. Save. The project opens, ready for files. ## Project settings Each project page has a **Project settings** panel: - **Artwork:** the cover your client sees. JPG or PNG. Use **Replace artwork** to change it. - **Payment link (optional):** where your client pays you. See [Terms, revisions and payment](https://docs.wavdrop.link/terms-and-payment). - **Prevent downloads:** keeps the link stream-only. See [Downloads](https://docs.wavdrop.link/downloads). - **Show client technical info:** shows each file's specs on the share page. See [Specs and loudness](https://docs.wavdrop.link/specs-and-loudness). - **Revisions and terms:** how many revisions each song includes, and the terms your client accepts. ## Clients Open **Clients** to see everyone you work with and their projects. Click a client to edit their name, add contact emails, or give them a photo. > [!WARNING] > **Delete client** also deletes all of that client's projects, files and notes. You can't undo it. ## Delete a project The delete button sits in the danger zone at the bottom of the project page. Deleting a project removes its songs, notes and share link for good. Download anything you want to keep first. ## Limits on Free The Free plan includes 2 projects and 2 clients. Deleted ones don't count. Paid plans have no project or client limit. See [Plans and storage](https://docs.wavdrop.link/plans). --- # Uploading files > Supported formats, size limits, and how new files find their song. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/uploading Drop files onto a project, or click the upload area to browse. Several files at once is fine. ## Supported files | Type | Extensions | | --- | --- | | Lossless audio | .wav, .aiff, .aif, .flac | | Compressed audio | .mp3, .m4a, .mp4, .aac | | Archives (for stems or extras) | .zip | WAVDROP keeps your original file exactly as you uploaded it, and checks that each file really is the type its name says. ## Size limits | Plan | Largest single file | Total storage | | --- | --- | --- | | Free | 100 MB | 1 GB | | Plus | 3 GB | 500 GB | | Pro | 3 GB | 1 TB | Your current usage is in **Settings**, under **Plan & storage**. ## New version or new song? When a file's name matches a song already in the project, or comes close, WAVDROP opens **Review uploads** before anything lands: - **Stack as a new version** puts the file under that song as its newest version. - **Keep separate** adds it as its own song. Files that don't resemble any song upload straight away as new songs. If you guessed wrong, you can fix it later: see [Versions](https://docs.wavdrop.link/versions). ## Clean names Turn on **Auto-name tracks** in **Settings** to drop a leading track number like "03 - " from new uploads. The extension stays, and songs you've already uploaded aren't changed. ## While it uploads Uploads run in your browser, so keep the tab open until they finish. If your connection drops, WAVDROP tells you and you can try again. > [!NOTE] > Hit a limit? The message tells you which one: the file is over your plan's upload size, or the workspace is out of storage. Delete old files or move to a bigger plan, then upload again. --- # Versions > Stack mixes under one song, pick the main version and clean up old ones. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/versions A song can have many versions: mix 1, mix 2, the master. They stack under one song, so your project stays one clean tracklist instead of "final", "final2", "final-FINAL". ## Add a version Two ways: - Open the song's menu and choose **Upload new version**. - Drop the file onto the project. If its name matches the song, choose **Stack as a new version** in the review. The new version becomes the song's main version, and it's what plays first. ## The main version The main version is the one at the top of the song. It's what your client hears when they press play, and they can still pick an older version from the song. To promote an older one, open its menu and choose **Make main version**. ## Demos Mark an early sketch with **Mark as demo**. A demo sits before version 1 and isn't counted as a version. **Remove demo mark** turns it back into a normal version. ## Split a version off Uploaded something to the wrong song? Choose **Move to its own song** on that version. It becomes a separate song in the same project. ## Delete Choosing **Delete** on a song with versions asks what to remove: - **Latest version** removes only the newest one. - **Entire track** removes the song and every version of it. > [!WARNING] > Deleting can't be undone. Download anything you want to keep first. ## Compare versions Not sure which mix is better? Use [A/B Compare](https://docs.wavdrop.link/ab-compare) to play two versions in sync at the same loudness. --- # Song order and Album flow > Arrange a project's songs by hand or try a suggested running order. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/song-order Songs play in the order you set, and your client sees the same order on the share page. ## Reorder by hand Drag a song up or down the project list. The new order saves on its own. ## Album flow Album flow suggests running orders for a project, based on how each song sounds. Think of it as a second opinion when you're sequencing an EP or album. 1. Open **Album Flow** on the project. 2. Pick a style (see the table below). 3. Compare the suggestion with **Current order**. 4. Click **Apply order** to use it, or **Cancel** to keep yours. | Style | What it tries | | --- | --- | | Energy Arc | Build up, then ease off. | | Smooth Flow | Keep neighbouring songs similar. | | High Energy | Lead with the songs that hit hardest. | | Journey | A gradual build. | Applying a suggestion changes the song order for you and on the share page. Audio, versions and notes stay as they are. > [!NOTE] > Album flow needs at least three songs, and works with up to 200. It reads each song's sound when the file is uploaded, so songs uploaded before the feature arrived can keep a project from getting suggestions. --- # Share links > Send a project or a single song, turn links off, replace them and set expiry. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/share-links A share link is how your client gets to your music. It opens in any browser, with no account and no access request. ## The project link Every project has one link, shown on the project page. - **Copy** puts it on your clipboard. - **Client view** opens the page exactly as your client sees it. - **Secure** holds everything else on this page: turning the link off, replacing it, expiry, passwords and email access. ## Link to a single song Open a song's menu: - **Copy song link** shares only that song. New versions you upload later show up on the same link. - **Copy link in project** opens the whole project, starting on that song. Song links follow the project's settings. Turn off or replace the project link, and every song link goes with it. ## Turn a link off In **Secure**, choose **Disable link**. Client view turns off for everyone and the current URL stops working. The project stays private until you choose **Enable link**, which publishes a brand-new URL. The old one never comes back. ## Replace a link Sent the link to the wrong person? In **Secure**, choose **Share again**. You get a new URL and the previous one stops working straight away. Send the new one to the people who should have it. ## Make links expire In **Secure**, open **Link expiry** and choose when the project's links stop working: 3 hours, 12 hours or 1 day. The expiry covers every link in the project, song links included. - **Change expiry** picks a new time. - **Remove expiry** keeps the link open until you turn it off. - After links expire, choose **Share again** for a fresh link with no expiry. > [!TIP] > Need a specific date, like "Friday at midnight"? The [AI connection](https://docs.wavdrop.link/ai-connection) can set an exact expiry time for you. ## Know when someone listens The bell in WAVDROP lights up when someone plays, downloads or leaves a note on your links. ## Protect a link Add a password, or let only certain emails in. See [Passwords and email access](https://docs.wavdrop.link/protect-links). --- # Passwords and email access > Decide exactly who can open a link. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/protect-links By default, anyone with the link can listen. When that's too open, lock it. Both locks live in the project's **Secure** panel, and a link uses one or the other. | Lock | Who gets in | Plan | | --- | --- | --- | | Password | Anyone who has the link and the password | Plus, Pro | | Email access protection | Only the emails or domains you add | Pro | ## Password 1. Open the project and click **Secure**. 2. Choose **Add password**, type one (4 to 128 characters) and click **Set password**. 3. Send the password separately from the link. Your client sees a password screen before anything plays. Too many wrong tries and they have to wait a few minutes. **Hide details before password** keeps the project name and details hidden until the link is unlocked, including in the preview card that chat apps show for links. Previews already sent in chats keep what they showed. To change or remove the password, choose **Manage password**. > [!NOTE] > Moved to Free with a password already set? The link keeps it, and you can still remove it. Setting a new one needs Plus or Pro. ## Email access protection Only the people you add can listen. Nobody needs an account. 1. Open **Secure**, then **Email access protection**. 2. Add up to 10 entries. Each is an email address (ana@label.com) or a whole domain (*@label.com). 3. That's it. Adding emails doesn't send anything. What your client does: 1. They open the link and type their email. 2. If it's on the list, they get an email with an access link. It works once and expires in 15 minutes. 3. They click it, choose **Continue to listen**, and can listen for about an hour in that browser. After that, they confirm again. The page answers the same way whether or not an email is on the list, so nobody can use it to find out who you work with. Some entries aren't allowed: domains of public email providers (anyone can get a gmail.com address, so it would make the link public) and temporary or disposable addresses. > [!WARNING] > Turning on email access removes the link's password. Removing the last email, or turning email access off, makes the link open to anyone who has it again. WAVDROP asks before it does that. ## Which one should I use? - Sending to one artist who forwards links around? **Email access protection.** - Sending to a team where you don't know every address? **Password**, or email access with their domain. - Quick preview for a trusted contact? No lock, plus a short [expiry](https://docs.wavdrop.link/share-links). --- # Downloads > Let clients download your files, or keep links stream-only. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/downloads You decide whether your client can take files home or only stream them. ## Allow or prevent downloads Downloads are a project setting, so they apply to every link in the project, song links included. - New projects allow downloads, unless you turn on **Prevent downloads** while creating them. - To change it later, open the project and switch **Prevent downloads** in **Project settings**. With downloads allowed, your client sees a **Download** button for each song. With downloads prevented, the button is replaced by "Downloads are disabled". > [!TIP] > Doing paid work? Keep **Prevent downloads** on until the invoice is paid, then switch it off. Your client keeps the same link. See [Terms, revisions and payment](https://docs.wavdrop.link/terms-and-payment). ## What your client downloads They get the file you uploaded, not a squashed copy. ## Download your own files Open a song's menu and choose **Download original**. This works whatever the project's download setting is. ## Know when it happens Downloads show up in your notifications, so you know when the files have left. > [!NOTE] > Preventing downloads removes the download button. Like any audio that plays in a browser, it can't stop someone from recording what they hear. For unreleased music, pair it with a [password or email access](https://docs.wavdrop.link/protect-links). --- # What your client sees > The share page, Listen and Feedback modes, and leaving notes. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/client-view This is what happens on your client's side. Short version: they open the link and press play. Send them this page if they get stuck. ## Opening the link The link opens in any modern browser, on a phone or a computer. No app, no account, no access request. If the link is locked, they see one screen first: - **Password:** they type the password you gave them. - **Email access:** they type their email, then open the access link WAVDROP emails them. See [Passwords and email access](https://docs.wavdrop.link/protect-links). ## Two modes A switch at the top changes how the page looks. Your client can flip between them anytime. | Mode | What it's for | | --- | --- | | **Listen** | Just the music, the way it'll look and sound on release. The page opens here. | | **Feedback** | The work: a waveform per song, notes pinned to the timeline, and replies. | ## Leaving a note 1. Switch to **Feedback** and play the song. 2. Type in the note box. The note pins itself to the second where they started typing, shown as "Commenting at 1:47". 3. Add their name and click **Post comment**. To make a general note about the whole song, they clear the pinned time before posting. Notes show up for you straight away. Your client can also reply to notes, and sees when you've resolved one. ## Terms before the first note If you've set terms on the project, your client reads and accepts them before their first note. See [Terms, revisions and payment](https://docs.wavdrop.link/terms-and-payment). ## Versions and info - Each song plays its main version. If a song has older versions, your client can pick one from the song. - File specs and loudness appear only if you've allowed them. See [Specs and loudness](https://docs.wavdrop.link/specs-and-loudness). - **Download** appears only if the project allows downloads. See [Downloads](https://docs.wavdrop.link/downloads). ## Keyboard Space plays and pauses, unless the cursor is in a text box. ## If something goes wrong See [Troubleshooting](https://docs.wavdrop.link/troubleshooting), or tell your client to reload the page. Most problems are a dropped connection. --- # Notes and replies > Read, answer and close out every note in one place. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/notes Every note your client leaves is pinned to a moment in a song. You can read them where they happened, or all together. ## Where notes show up - **On the project page**, next to each song and on its waveform. - **In Notes**, a single board with the open notes across your projects, grouped by song. Start here when you sit down to do revisions. - **In the bell**, which lights up when a new note arrives. ## Reply Type in the reply box under a note. Replies go out as you, and your client sees them on the share page. ## Mark as done When you've dealt with a note, choose **Mark as done**. It leaves your open list, and your client sees it as resolved. Changed your mind? **Mark as not done** brings it back. ## Delete You can delete any note or reply. Deleting a note deletes its replies too. You can't undo either. ## Work through a round A simple loop that works: 1. Open **Notes** and play each note's moment. 2. Fix it in your session, reply if you need to, and mark it done. 3. Upload the new mix as a [new version](https://docs.wavdrop.link/versions). 4. Send the same link again. It already plays the new version. Prefer working inside your DAW? [Export the notes as markers](https://docs.wavdrop.link/export-notes). --- # Export notes to your DAW > Turn a round of notes into markers for Pro Tools, Logic, REAPER and more. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/export-notes Turn a version's notes into markers, so each one lands at the right spot in your session. ## Export 1. Open the song's menu and choose **Export notes**. 2. Pick a format (see below). 3. Set the options, then download. | Format | Use it for | How to bring it in | | --- | --- | --- | | MIDI file (.mid) | Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Nuendo | See the steps below | | REAPER markers (.csv) | REAPER | View > Region/Marker Manager, right-click, import | | Audacity labels (.txt) | Audacity | File > Import > Labels | | Notes list (.csv) | Spreadsheets, Ableton Live, any DAW | Open it like any spreadsheet | ## Options - **Song starts at:** if the song doesn't start at 0:00 in your session, enter where it does (like 90, 1:30 or 1:00:00). Every marker shifts by that much. - **Session tempo (BPM):** for MIDI files, so markers land on the right bar. - **Include resolved notes:** off by default, so you only get what's still open. - **Include replies:** on by default. Replies are added to their note's marker, or get their own row in the notes list. ## Bringing a MIDI file into your DAW - **Pro Tools:** in a session with no markers yet, choose File > Import > MIDI, with Import Tempo Map From MIDI File turned on. - **Logic Pro:** open the file with File > Open. It opens as a new project with the markers. - **Cubase and Nuendo:** turn on Import Markers in Preferences > MIDI > MIDI File, then choose File > Import > MIDI File. > [!NOTE] > "No open notes found" means every note on that version is resolved. Turn on **Include resolved notes** to export them anyway. --- # A/B Compare > Compare two versions in sync, at matched loudness, blind if you like. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/ab-compare Pick the better mix with your ears, not your eyes. A/B Compare plays two versions of a song in sync, at matched loudness, and can hide which one is which. ## Why it helps The louder mix always sounds better for a second, and a name like "v4 final" tells you which one you're meant to like. A/B Compare takes both out of the picture. ## Open it Open a song's menu and choose **A/B Compare**. It shows up on songs that have at least two versions you can compare. 1. Pick a version for each side. 2. Press play. Both versions run from the same second. 3. Switch between them as often as you like. You never lose your place. ## Matched loudness Both versions play at the same level, so neither one wins just by being louder. ## Blind mode Turn on **Shuffle** to hide the names and mix up the order. Listen, choose **I prefer this one** (or **No preference**), then **Reveal** to see which version you picked. ## Keyboard | Key | What it does | | --- | --- | | `1` / `2` | Switch to side 1 or side 2 | | `X` | Flip to the other side | | `Space` | Play or pause both | --- # Specs and loudness > File details, loudness, and how streaming services will play your master. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/specs-and-loudness WAVDROP reads every file when you upload it, so you don't have to open it in another app to check what you're sending. ## What you see Each song shows its sample rate, bit depth and loudness. Loudness is integrated loudness in LUFS, measured on upload. ## How streaming services will play it Streaming services turn loud masters down, and some turn quiet ones up. Open the loudness on a song to see, service by service, what happens to this master: - Spotify (Normal, Loud and Quiet settings, plus the web player, which doesn't normalize) - Apple Music with Sound Check - YouTube - SoundCloud Each row says whether the service turns the track down, lifts it, or leaves it alone, and why. For example, YouTube doesn't raise quieter masters, and some services stop lifting a track before its peaks would clip. ## Hear it as on a service Choose **Hear it as on** and pick a service to play the song at the level that service would. It can turn a track down to show you a loud master's real level. It can't preview a boost. > [!NOTE] > Figures for Apple Music and YouTube are based on measurements published by others, since neither documents its exact rules. Treat them as a close guide, not a guarantee. ## Show specs to your client Your client doesn't see technical details unless you want them to. - **Show client technical info** in **Project settings** decides whether specs appear on that project's share page. - **Auto show tracks metadata** in **Settings** opens every project with specs showing, for you. --- # Terms, revisions and payment > Set your terms and revision count, and add your payment link to the project. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/terms-and-payment Paid work goes smoother when the deal is written down where the work happens. Terms, revision count and your payment link all live on the project, and your client sees them on the share page. Everything here is optional, and set per project in **Project settings**. ## Revisions Open **Revisions and terms** and fill in: - **Revisions included per song:** a number from 0 to 99. Leave it empty to show nothing. - **Price per extra revision (optional):** the amount and currency. Your client sees where each song stands as they write notes, for example "Your notes start revision 2 of 3 included", or that the next revision is extra and what it costs. How it counts: version 1 is the first delivery, and each later version is one revision. A song on version 3 has had two revisions, so notes written now ask for revision 3. ## Terms your client accepts Under **Terms clients accept (optional)**, write your terms in plain words: what's included, turnaround, who owns what. Your client reads and accepts them before their first note. Edit the terms later and everyone accepts the new wording before their next note. The project shows who accepted and when. ## Payment link Paste your own payment link into **Payment link (optional)**: a Stripe, PayPal or invoice link, anything that starts with https://. Your client gets a pay button on the share page. The money goes straight to you. WAVDROP never touches it. ## Hold files until you're paid Turn on **Prevent downloads** so your client can stream and give notes but can't take the files. Once you're paid, switch it off. Same link, files unlocked. See [Downloads](https://docs.wavdrop.link/downloads). --- # Plans and storage > What Free, Plus and Pro include, and what happens when a plan ends. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/plans WAVDROP has a free plan so you can try it with real work, and two paid plans for more room and more control. ## Compare plans | | Free | Plus | Pro | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Storage | 1 GB | 500 GB | 1 TB | | Largest file | 100 MB | 3 GB | 3 GB | | Projects | 2 | No limit | No limit | | Clients | 2 | No limit | No limit | | Link passwords | No | Yes | Yes | | Email access protection | No | No | Yes | Everything else, from notes and versions to A/B Compare, exports and the AI connection, works on every plan. **Settings › Plan & storage** always shows your current plan, what it includes, and how much storage you're using. ## Paying, changing and cancelling Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly through Creem, our payment partner, and renew until you cancel. - Upgrade, update your card or cancel in **Settings › Plan & storage › Manage billing**. - Cancelling turns off renewal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. - If a renewal payment fails, you keep your plan while the charge is retried. Refunds follow the [Refund Policy](https://wavdrop.link/refund). ## When a paid plan ends Your workspace moves to Free. Nothing is deleted right away. If you're over Free's limits: - you can't upload until you're back under the storage limit; - existing projects, clients and password-protected links keep working, but you can't add more than Free allows; - you can still play, share and download everything. > [!WARNING] > If your workspace is still over Free's storage limit 60 days after your plan ends, files are permanently deleted, oldest first, until it fits. WAVDROP warns you in the app and by email before that happens. To keep everything, download it, delete files yourself, or move back to a paid plan. The full rules are in the [Terms](https://wavdrop.link/terms). --- # Account security > Two-factor sign-in, signing out, and how your files are protected. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/account-security Your account holds unreleased music, so it's worth two minutes to lock it down. ## Turn on two-factor sign-in With two-factor on, signing in needs your password and a six-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. 1. Go to **Settings › Login & Security**. 2. Choose **Set up authenticator app**. 3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy and similar all work). 4. Type the six-digit code. It checks itself after the sixth digit. You can turn it off again from the same place. ## Change or reset your password - Signed in: change it in **Settings › Login & Security**. - Locked out: choose **Forgot password?** on the sign-in page and follow the email. Changing your password signs you out on every other device. ## Sign out **Settings › Session & account › Sign out** signs out this device. To sign out everywhere else too, change your password. ## How your files are protected - **Private by default.** Your audio, artwork and account data are stored encrypted, in private storage. Nothing sits at a public address. - **Checked on every play.** Each time someone presses play, WAVDROP checks the link and any password or email lock before a note streams. - **Your links, your rules.** You can turn a link off, replace it, or make it expire at any time. See [Share links](https://docs.wavdrop.link/share-links). - **No training on your music.** WAVDROP doesn't use your audio to train AI and doesn't send it to AI services. More detail is on the [Security](https://wavdrop.link/security) page, and what we collect is in the [Privacy Policy](https://wavdrop.link/privacy). ## Report a security issue Found something that looks wrong? Email us from the [Security](https://wavdrop.link/security) page. Please don't test against other people's accounts or links. --- # Connect Claude or ChatGPT > Ask an AI assistant about your projects and let it handle small tasks. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/ai-connection Connect WAVDROP to Claude or ChatGPT once, then ask about your work in plain words. "What's still open on the Nightdrive mix?" "Make the Cold Open link expire Friday." It reads your projects and notes, and handles the small stuff. ## Connect Claude 1. In WAVDROP, go to **Settings › AI connectors** and choose **Connect Claude**. Copy the link it shows you. 2. In Claude, go to **Customize → Connectors**. 3. Click **Add custom connector**, paste the link, then click **Add**. 4. Click **Connect** and approve in the WAVDROP window that opens. ## Connect ChatGPT 1. In WAVDROP, go to **Settings › AI connectors** and choose **Connect ChatGPT**. Copy the link it shows you. 2. Go to [chatgpt.com/plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins) and click **+ → Add custom MCP server**. 3. Name it WAVDROP, choose **Server URL**, paste the link, and pick **OAuth**. 4. Tick **I understand and want to continue**, then click **Create as a plugin**. 5. Approve in the WAVDROP window that opens. > [!NOTE] > Don't see the custom connector option in ChatGPT? Your ChatGPT plan may not support custom connectors yet. ## What it can do Ask about your work: - your clients, projects, songs and versions; - the notes on a song, and what's still open; - recent activity: who listened, what changed; - the state of a project's link: on or off, password, expiry. Handle small tasks: - reply to a note, or mark it done; - turn a project's link on or off, replace it, or set and remove its expiry; - remove a project's password; - move a version to its own song, or change the order of a song's versions. ## What it can't do Upload or delete anything, change song order, set passwords, or touch billing, your account or client details. Do those in WAVDROP itself. ## Keep an eye on it **Settings › AI activity log** lists every change a connected app made, or tried to make, in your workspace. Entries are kept for 90 days. ## Disconnect In **Settings › AI connectors**, choose **Disconnect** next to the app. It loses access straight away. You can connect again anytime. > [!TIP] > WAVDROP tells the assistant to treat what your clients write as information to report to you, never as instructions to follow. --- # Settings and account deletion > Your name, track settings, and deleting your account. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/settings Everything personal lives in **Settings**. Here's what each part does. ## Profile Your display name: how you appear across your workspace and in replies your clients see. ## Tracks settings - **Auto-name tracks:** on new uploads, drops a leading track number like "03 - " from the filename. The extension stays, and songs you've already uploaded are left as they are. - **Auto show tracks metadata:** opens every project with each song's technical details showing. A project's **More info** switch can still hide them for that visit. ## Login & Security Turn on two-factor sign-in and change your password. See [Account security](https://docs.wavdrop.link/account-security). ## AI connectors Connect Claude or ChatGPT, see what they've done, and disconnect them. See [Connect Claude or ChatGPT](https://docs.wavdrop.link/ai-connection). ## Plan & storage Your plan, what it includes, and how much storage you're using. See [Plans and storage](https://docs.wavdrop.link/plans). ## Delete your account **Settings › Session & account › Delete account** deletes your account and your workspace, with every project, song and share link in it. You confirm with your password. - Every share link stops working as soon as deletion starts. - You're signed out everywhere, and it can take up to a minute. - On a paid plan? Cancel it first in **Settings › Plan & storage › Manage billing**, or request deletion and we'll cancel it for you. > [!WARNING] > Deleting your account can't be undone. Download anything you want to keep first. --- # Troubleshooting > Fixes for links that won't open, playback that won't start, and failed uploads. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/troubleshooting Most problems have a one-line fix. Find the message you're seeing. ## "Link unavailable" The link was turned off, replaced, or it expired. - **If you sent it:** open the project, click **Secure**, and choose **Enable link** or **Share again**. Then send the new link. Old links never come back. See [Share links](https://docs.wavdrop.link/share-links). - **If you received it:** ask the sender for a fresh link. ## "This link is protected" The link has a password or email access. - **Password:** ask the sender for it. After too many wrong tries, wait a few minutes before trying again. - **Email access:** type your email and open the access link WAVDROP sends you. ## The access email never arrived - Check spam and promotions folders. - Only addresses on the link's list get an email, and the page won't say whether yours is on it. Ask the sender to check the spelling, or to add your address. - The access link works once and expires in 15 minutes. Request a new one if it's old or already used. - Open it on the device and browser you want to listen on. ## Playback won't start The message under the player tells you what's going on: | Message | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Secure stream failed. Trying again…" | Nothing. WAVDROP is retrying on its own. | | "Still connecting to the secure stream…" | Give it a few seconds. Usually a slow connection. | | "You're offline. The secure stream resumes when you reconnect." | Get back online. Playback picks up again. | | "Secure stream failed. Check your connection and try again." | Check your connection, then press play again. | | "Secure stream failed on our side. Try again in a moment." | That one's on us. Try again shortly. | Still stuck? Reload the page, or try another browser. ## Upload failed | Message | What to do | | --- | --- | | "File type not allowed." | Use a supported format. See [Uploading files](https://docs.wavdrop.link/uploading). | | "This file is over your plan's upload size." | Free allows files up to 100 MB. Export a smaller file or move to a paid plan. | | "You're out of storage." | Delete old files, or move to a bigger plan. | | "Upload interrupted. Check your connection and try again." | Keep the tab open and try again on a steady connection. | | "Too many uploads started. Try again in a few minutes." | Wait a few minutes, then upload the rest. | ## A file landed in the wrong song Open that version's menu and choose **Move to its own song**, or delete it and upload it with **Upload new version** on the right song. See [Versions](https://docs.wavdrop.link/versions). ## Can't create a project or client On Free you can have 2 projects and 2 clients. Delete one you don't need, or move to a paid plan. See [Plans and storage](https://docs.wavdrop.link/plans). ## Still stuck Contact us from the [Support](https://wavdrop.link/support) page. Tell us what you clicked, what you expected, and the exact message you saw. --- # FAQ > Short answers to the questions people ask most. Source: https://docs.wavdrop.link/faq ## Does my client need an account? No. They open the link in a browser and press play. Notes only ask for a name. ## Does it work on phones? Yes. Share links work in any modern browser, on phones, tablets and computers. ## Do you compress my audio? No. WAVDROP keeps your file exactly as you uploaded it, and downloads give your client that same file. ## Which file types can I upload? WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, M4A, MP4, AAC, and ZIP for stems or extras. See [Uploading files](https://docs.wavdrop.link/uploading). ## Can my client download the files? Only if you let them. Turn on **Prevent downloads** to keep a project stream-only. See [Downloads](https://docs.wavdrop.link/downloads). ## Can I share just one song? Yes. Open the song's menu and choose **Copy song link**. See [Share links](https://docs.wavdrop.link/share-links). ## I sent a link to the wrong person. Can I take it back? Yes. Open **Secure** and choose **Share again**. The old link stops working immediately. See [Share links](https://docs.wavdrop.link/share-links). ## Who can read the notes? You, and anyone who opens the link. Everyone on a link sees the same notes, so it works like a shared conversation about the music. ## What happens when I upload a new mix? Stack it as a new version of the song. It becomes the main version, so the link your client already has plays it. See [Versions](https://docs.wavdrop.link/versions). ## Is WAVDROP free? There's a free plan with enough room to try it on real work, and paid plans for more storage and link protection. See [Plans and storage](https://docs.wavdrop.link/plans). ## Do you use my music to train AI? No. WAVDROP doesn't use your audio to train AI and doesn't send it to AI services. The optional [AI connection](https://docs.wavdrop.link/ai-connection) reads your projects and notes when you ask it to, never your audio files. ## How do I delete my account? **Settings › Session & account › Delete account**. See [Settings and account deletion](https://docs.wavdrop.link/settings). ## How do I contact you? From the [Support](https://wavdrop.link/support) page.
